Built by A.H. Moody and Sons to the design of Robert Clark, her design is similar to the famous ‘Pym’ built at the same yard. Both above and below decks, MATAMBU remains very close to the original design with only the engine and spars having been replaced. She is an excellent example of a classic cruiser racer of this period, from a well known designer and built to traditional standards by a top quality yard. The construction is mahogany on rock elm frames with some steel floors and teak decks. She has been properly maintained thought her life with only two owners since she was new. She has a full deck cover throughout the season and is laid up ashore every winter. A major refit in 1991/5 has kept her in tip top condition and a 2011 survey confirms this.
